At first I was confused on what had happened in a couple sentences. Josie was on the stand and she said something that made the book take a turn. I had to ask my sister, who also read the book, to explain it to me. It then became clear to me that Josie had shot Matt instead of Peter.
I think the theme of this book was to be careful of how you act towards others because everything can go wrong in nineteen minutes.

What has surprised you in the book? Why?
I was surprised on how he could shoot Matt in front of Josie. If he was truly her friend, he wouldn't let her see something like that. I wonder if Josie actually didn't remember what happened.

What character do you like most in this book and/or what character do you like least? Why? I like Matt the least. I think he is conceited and thinks hes above everyone and everything. I also think teasing and beating Peter up since kindergarten is horrible. What Peter did is terrifying, but its hard to blame him for shooting Matt.

QUESTION 1:What advice would you give to a particular character? Why?

RESPONSE 1: I would tell Josie that even though she might be out of the ''in group'' she should stand up for peter like she used to when they were little. She may not havephysically been mean to peter, but she is just like Matt and his friends who torture him everyday. Boyfriends come and go but when they leave behind pieces of your heart, your friends are the one who picks it all up.

QUESTION 2: Do you think you would read another book by this author? Why or why not?
RESPONSE 2: This is my second book by Jodi Picoult that I have read. I think she is a great author and if I come across another one of her books I would read it. Her books are full of suspense and I can't wait to get to the end.
